REPORT: PM Salam chairs cabinet session at Grand Serail
Cabinet held a meeting at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam.

Following the cabinet session, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij paid tribute to late Lebanese diva Sabah saying that the cabinet mourns the loss of a legendary singer.

On another note, Jriej said that there can be no comparison between the release of the Hezbollah detainee and the case of the Arsal abducted soldiers.

He also noted that the cabinet approved the formation of a ministerial committee aimed at following up on the food safety issue.

Prior to the session, State Minister Mohammad Fneich stated that the case of Hezbollah fighter Imad Loubnan Ayyad is different than that of Lebanese soldiers who were kidnapped in Arsal.

"We support any political and non-political movement that secures the release of the soldiers," MP Fneich said.

For his part, Minister Nabil de Freij noted that the cabinet was not informed about any new updates pertaining to negotiations that aim at resolving this dossier, adding that the kidnappers are hindering the release of soldiers.
