REPORT: IS commander, Abu Ali al-Chichani, threatens LAF

Abu Ali al-Chichani, a commander of the Islamic State militant group, has threatened Lebanon and its army, warning against the failure to release his wife.

“The Lebanese Army Intelligence arrested late on Monday the wife of Anas Charkas, an official of the Qaeda-linked Nusra Front,” sources reported on Tuesday (December 02).

The official’s wife was detained along with her brother Rakan in the Zgharta region of Hilan.

“Charkas, also known as Abu Ali al-Chichani, is involved in the case of the kidnapped Lebanese troops,” the sources added.
