REPORT: Joint parliamentary committees endorse food safety law

The joint parliamentary committees endorsed on Thursday the food safety law and passed it to the parliament‘s general authority.

In this regard, head of the Parliament's Health Committee, MP Atef Majdalani stated that a food safety law will soon be put into force, stressing that its non-implementation will harm all Lebanese citizens.

For his part, Health Minister Wael Abou Faour stated that the endorsed law maintains the work of all ministries, emphasizing that Lebanese authorities are serious in dealing with the food safety campaign.

He also noted that the anti-smoking law will be implemented in all restaurants and public places to ensure the health safety of all citizens.
