The cabinet, which convened at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam, delayed discussions pertaining to the appointment of full-time teachers for secondary education across various Lebanese public schools.
PM Salam adjourned the session after a dispute broke out over the work mechanism and the signature of a number of decrees.
In this regard, sources said that the dispute started while discussions were addressing Lebanon’s special economic zone, later developing into an argument between Ministers Boutros Harb and Elias Bou Saab.
Following the session, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij stressed that Salam asked the ministers to conduct a survey on the damage caused by the storm, in order to start preparing a recovery plan.
Minister Jreij added that Salam reiterated the call to elect a new president, noting that further delay in this regard will have negative effects on the national interests.
