REPORT: Young Lebanese Christian joins IS

Following the case of Lebanese Christian citizen Elie al-Warraq, who had reportedly joined the Islamic State, the Lebanese Internal Security Forces launched investigations into the case of another young Christian, identified as 24-year-old Charlie al-Haddad, a Greek Orthodox from the town of Dahr al-Ain in North Lebanon.

In the details, Charlie had left Lebanon for Turkey on September 10, 2014, allegedly for a vacation after informing his parents that he would return in early October.

However, his family, who has not yet heard of him, reported the case to the security apparatuses in a bid to reveal his whereabouts.

22-year-old Lebanese Christian Elie al-Warraq was one of three terror suspects arrested last month over plotting suicide attacks, and being involved in an attack that targeted Tripoli’s Jabal Mohsen neighborhood.
