Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour announced on Friday the temporary shutdown of the al-Minieh hospital to allow it to meet the needed health and safety requirements. The hospital, located in northern Lebanon, will be granted two months to improve its standards. An inspection will be carried out after two months to guarantee that the requirements are met. Abou Faour also ordered the termination of the hospital's contract. Abou Faour launched last October a food and health safety campaign across Lebanon aimed at clamping down on health violations.
