REPORT: Landslide injures two persons in the northern town of Hasroun
The state-run National News Agency reported on Thursday that at least two people were injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in the northern Bsharri district.

The agency added that the reason behind the the landslide in the town of Hasroun is the collapse of a pond in the mountainous town.

The water swept through several homes, moving cars into a valley and blocking the Bsharri-Hasroun main road.

The agency identified Charbel Touma among those injured, who suffered a broken shoulder and was transferred to the Bsharri state hospital.

Meanwhile, Red Cross rescuers rush to the scene of the incident to check if there were victims trapped inside the swept vehicles.

Hasroun municipality deployed its police and staff to participate in the ongoing search and rescue operations.
