The special envoy of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, Morteza Sarmadi, arrived in Beirut on Wednesday to hold meetings with Lebanese officials on Tehran's expected agreement with Western powers over its nuclear program. Sarmadi held talks with Speaker Nabih Berri after which he noted that the nuclear agreement reached last week in Lausanne is aimed at forging a final one prior to June 30. The talks also addressed regional developments, mainly the Saudi airstrikes in Yemen. Sarmadi stressed the importance of halting the Saudi-led military operations against Yemen's Houthi rebels, urging the concerned parties to hold dialogue. Sarmadi then headed to the Grand Serail to hold a meeting with Prime Minister Tammam Salam. The envoy then paid a visit to the grave of slain top Hezbollah operative Imad Mughnieh.
