REPORT: Education Minister Bou Saab calls for adoption of wage scale

Education Minister Elias Bou Saab stressed on Monday the need to pass the long-delayed pay scale bill, calling for dialogue and understanding among the Lebanese political forces.

“He who wants to uphold the military institution, educational sector has to adopt the series of ranks and salaries,” Bou Saad said, adding “the economy will grow following the approval of the wage scale”.

“If Prime Minister Tammam Salam calls for a cabinet session, the Change and Reform bloc will participate in it,” the minister said, urging the political factions to hold dialogue and reach agreement as an indication of "true national partnership".

The minister's statements were made as he toured the technical college in Dekwaneh where students are undergoing the state official exams.
