REPORT: Civil society activists suggest alternative plan to resolve trash crisis

Civil society activists said on Saturday that the cabinet’s proposal to resolve waste management crisis is not well-examined, stressing the need to find an urgent solution to this problem.

The activists believe that there is an alternative plan for the one suggested by Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayyeb.

They noted that the cabinet did not take a positive step concerning sorting wastes at their original sources.

In this context, they called for a sit-in to be staged tomorrow (September 27) outside al-Naameh landfill.
