Speaker Nabih Berri received on Monday in Ain al-Tineh Lebanese Forces deputy chief MP George Adwan, member of the Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan, as well as Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil, where they discussed the issue of the legislative session.
Following the meeting, MP Adwan said that holding a legislative session in the absence of the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces would violate the National Pact, condemning the failure to pass a new electoral law that guarantees partnership.
In turn, MP Ibrahim Kanaan warned against violating the National Pact, noting that such violation might be used another time and with other issues.
Earlier, MP Anwar al-Khalil said following the meeting of Development and Liberation bloc in Ain al-Tineh, that “the legislative session will be held,” calling on the parliamentary blocs to fully assume their duties.
