Contaminated water and sewage from the towns of al-Rawda and al-Marj, as well as other Bekaa towns pour into the Litani river and al-Ghzayel river, both in turn flow into the Qaraoun lake.
This comes as the municipalities of these towns lack the means and capabilities to buy water pumps in order to channel the sewage to the treatment plants located in the region.
