Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai stressed the need to fill the presidential vacuum, noting that Lebanon is an example for inter-religious dialogue, which must be preserved, especially at the public institutions.

 

In his holy sermon delivered during Sunday’s mass in Bkerke, Rai called on the Parliamentary blocs to look into and discuss the recent initiative that has presented itself to end the presidential impasse, stressing the need to adopt a responsible and serious approach in order to elect a new president upon a national, unified and comprehensive decision.

 

For his part, Public Health Minister Wael Abou Faour sees in MP Sleiman Frangieh’s candidacy an opportunity to reach a national settlement.
