A new emblem rules in the Bekaa: “Pay for your safety”
Citizen Mahmoud Bassel Al-Mays who was kidnapped and released a few days ago, has reportedly recognized the face of one of his abductors arrested by the LAF intelligence who are working on arresting the rest of the criminal cell involved in the wave of abductions.

Meanwhile, the kidnapping phenomena in the Bekaa hinders the daily routine of the residents who live in constant fear of being taken away.

This has also affected the economic situation in the region.

Some residents known for their wealth have replaced their fancy cars with “normal” vehicles as to not attract attention. Others are speculating the immigration option.

All in all, it seems the motto of the Bekkaa is changing:“Pay for your own safety”.
