Google's boycott may decrease web traffic
A wave of angry protests against the anti-Muslim Youtube film "Innocence of Muslims" has invaded several countries across the globe since 11/9/2012.

Protesters demonstrated in most Muslim states and raided some of the American embassies. They chanted anti-American slogans and shouted that Google and Youtube websites must erase the film and its links. However, Google refused to do so, and a campaign to boycott both sites was launched on social media sites on September 24th.

Circulating information reported that the boycotting campaign caused Google its number one place among competing websites worldwide, as well as 3 million internet surfers.

Jordanian Ad-Dustour Daily was the first to publish these reports citing the information to Alexa website known for providing information about Top Sites.

Google remains the number one, but according to Alexa website, Google is ranked 2nd after Facebook in several countries.

The boycotting campaign may have shaken Google's grounds, but they appear to be very solid till date.
