Shea after meeting Hitti: We turned the page so we can all focus on deteriorating economic situation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nassif Hitti met on Monday with US ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea after summoning her on the background of Tyre’s Court of Urgent Matters Judge Mohammad Mazeh's ruling.

Following the meeting, Shea said that talks with Minister Nassif were “positive.”

“We have turned the page on this unfortunate distraction so we can all focus on the real crisis at hand, which is the deteriorating economic situation in Lebanon.," she added.

The ambassador stressed that the relations between Lebanon and the US are bilateral and strong.

“I can assure you that ours is a strong bilateral relationship that will continue to benefit the people of both countries,” she concluded by saying.
