REPORT: Caritas Lebanon aids Syrian refugees

The situation of Syrian refugees, their increasing needs and deteriorating plight were at the core of a meeting held between the different Middle Eastern charity organizations, Catholic organizations and representatives of the Church on Friday.

Heeding the plight of these refugees, Pope Benedict XVI sent an envoy to Lebanon to follow up on measures taken to support them and help them. “He will be in charge of coordinating efforts and providing assistance to refugees,” the Pope said.

In this regard, Caritas Lebanon organization used its limited capabilities to support Syrian refugees in Lebanon given that their numbers are increasing steadily day after day.
