REPORT: Saudi activists use Twitter to support political prisoners

Saudi activists and bloggers are organizing a one-week campaign on Twitter from the 10th of November 2012 till the 17th to support bloggers and political prisoners.

The campaign was a success and the tweets revealed the names of several political prisoners who are not recognized by the Saudi authorities.

Other tweets promoted the freedom of speech and some others called for toppling the Saudi rule.

Other countries were “contaminated” by this campaign. In Jordan and Kuwait, opposition groups are seeking social media websites to deliver their revolutionary messages.
