REPORT: Bab el Tebbaneh residents cut off highway for a while this morning
Residents of Bab el Tebbaneh cut off the international highway linking their city to Akkar on Tuesday for half an hour in protest of the failure of the Relief Commission to pay compensations following the recent clashes between the residents of Bab el Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen.

Protesters blocked the road with trucks, cars and trash cans demanding the payment of compensation while warning of further escalation in case the issue were not solved. Later in the day, they received a call from PM Najib Mikati who heeded their call stating that compensations will gradually be paid to residents as of Saturday.
