REPORT: Robberies across Lebanon return to the limelight

Shop owners in Qornet Shahwan’s Saraya shopping strip awoke to find that their shops had been robbed overnight.

In the details, 3 robbers were able to break and enter into several stores including lingerie, a children’s clothing and a car rental shop where they tampered with content, taking all electronic devices and left over money.

Charbel Hachem, a hair salon owner, said that the robbers had apparently broken the doors enabling them to steal a laptop and other contents in his store.
Another shop owner, Kathy Theresian who runs a beauty parlor said that the thieves checked her receipt books which confirms fingerprints, however added that they did not take anything from her shop.

As for Monel Khalife, an owner of a woman’s accessories store, she raised questions as to how these stores were robbed seemingly when they are located on a main road.

The criminal’s investigative team arrived to the scene and lifted fingerprints. Investigations have been launched in a crime which has become all too common in Lebanon.
