REPORT: ‘Anonymous’ hacktivists breach Israeli websites in protest of Gaza attacks

As soon as Israel launched its first deadly airstrike on Gaza, ‘hacktivist’ group Anonymous breached and defaced many Israeli websites.   

In a press statement published online, Anonymous issued a warning to the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and the Israeli government, ordering them not to shut down the internet in the occupied territories and to cease and desist from their “terror upon the innocent people of Palestine.”   

On Thursday morning, the group hacked both the website of the Israeli premiership and a top Israeli security and surveillance website Falcon-s.co.il, along with the following message: “Stop bombing Gaza. Millions of Israelis and Palestinians are lying awake, exposed and terrified.”    

Anonymous members explained that the group cannot stand idly and watch this injustice. “Join us in our fight to liberate Palestine… Israel here we come”, the statement said.       

The group assured that it will stand by the people of Gaza, stressing that it will do everything in its power to hinder the “evil” forces of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Anonymous warned Israel against shutting down the internet in Gaza, saying “Dear Israel, if you shut down the Internet, we will shut down your websites.”
