REPORT: Last chapter of scandals: All accused should be presumed innocent until proven guilty

The police arrested 19 people on charges of manipulating the results of the league's matches, and summoned officials from 22 teams and 61 players for being involved in betting on the football games. However, two players were detained for six months after a "betting" company offered them money, but they refused.

In Lebanon, the Lebanese Football Association appointed the General Secretary of West Asian Football Federation Fadi Zureikat to head the investigation committee in the case of bets and manipulation of games' results, granting him absolute powers for the task.

On the other hand, al-Nejmeh club, which was affected by the latest scandals, is holding on to the slogan: "All accused should be presumed innocent until proven guilty".

It is without any doubt that the scandal exists, and everyone calls for revealing the truth and refraining from anticipating the investigations; however, every team claims innocence and blames the other.
