Following the attack on the army patrol in Arsal, cautious calm prevailed in the border town where the LAF is expected to conduct raids to arrest the assaulters.

Most Lebanese political parties and figures denounced the assault against the Lebanese Army members who were on duty. However, we cannot help but wonder: will the politicians reach a consensus and give the army the green light to handle this matter with firmness? Or will the electoral speculations and bets hinder such position?

In Germnay, a remarkable meeting was held between the head of the Syrian opposition Coalition Moaz Alkhatib and Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Munich on the sidelines of an annual security conference.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili arrived in Damascus.

In Lebanon, the upcoming week will witness more discussions regarding the electoral law proposals, including the draft law recently proposed by the Future Movement.
