REPORT: Charbel says security situation could affect elections
A final decision has been taken to hold parliamentary elections on June 9th as per the decree prepared by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and referred to the Premiership.      

In this regard, Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said that the electoral law was set by the Parliament and can only be abolished by Parliament. “The decree will be signed before March 11,” he said pointing out that the security situation could affect elections.        

This report sheds the light on the different stances over the upcoming elections in general and the 1960s electoral law in particular.
