REPORT: Sea lion returns to Tyre's shores

Tyre's sea lion returned to the shores of the southern Lebanese city 3 days after environmental groups had attempted to relocate it to its habitat in the open sea.

The Ministry of Environment "Project Sea Reserves" and the "International Union for Conservation of Nature" in cooperation with the Municipality of Tyre and "Operation Big Blue Association" attempted on Wednesday to return the sea lion to its habitat in the open sea, specifically the Al-Jamal region known for its underwater caves.

The sea lion however swam all the way back to Tyre's shore where it is currently being fed by passersby and local fishermen.
