REPORT: Israel bolsters defenses at Syrian border

The Israeli army has significantly increased its military units on the Syrian border in Golan in order to face any security incident that may take place in light of Austria's decision to withdraw its peacekeepers from a U.N. force in the Golan Heights.

In this regard, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that his country could not rely solely on international forces for its safety, pointing out that the developments could lead Israel to take all necessary measures to defend itself.

This report will mainly examine the stances of Netanyahu and that of the former Military Intelligence chief Amos Yadlin who said that the latest developments in Syria fall in his country's interests.
