Drug addiction treatment centers are spread across Iran, where the number of addicts exceeds 1.5 million people, not to mention many others who are unregistered.                

Drug addiction is an issue which has been worrying all the Iranians, as it has been occupying an important part of the presidential electoral campaigns conducted by the candidates, in a bid to convince the voters to elect them by promising to solve any of the social issues prevailing over the country.                  

This report will highlight the issue of drug addiction in Iran and the causes of its proliferation, and will expose its use in presidential electoral campaigns.
