REPORT: Who are the candidates running for Iran’s presidential elections?

   
Six candidates are running for the Iranian Presidential election, 4 among them are conservatives; one is reformist and one independent.                

47-year-old Mohammad Said Jalili, is an Iranian politician and diplomat who, as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, is Iran's chief nuclear negotiator. He was previously Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs.                        

51-year-old Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf is an Iranian conservative politician, professor and a former military and police commander. He has been Teheran’s mayor for eight years.                            

68-year-old Ali Akbar Velayati is an Iranian politician, academic and diplomat. He was the Minister of Foreign Affairs for more than sixteen years from 1981 to 1997.  

58-year-old Mohsen Rezaee is an Iranian politician, economist and former military commander; he was a candidate for the presidential elections of 2005 and 2009 and is currently the Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran.                  

65-year-old Hassan Rowhani is a moderate cleric who represents the reformists.                

72-year old Mohammad Gharazi is the former minister of oil and telecommunications.
