An-Nahar newspaper reported on Sunday that negotiations in the case of Arsal abducted soldiers made a serious breakthrough.
The daily added that the al-Nusra Front is willing to put an end for the case, mainly with the stoked fears of upcoming battles with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) or with the Syrian regime troops.
Sources told al-Hayat newspaper on Sunday that French President Francois Hollande asserted to MP Walid Jumblatt during their meeting that France will not hold any dialogue with Syrian President Bachar Assad.
The same sources added that Hollande and Jumblatt also tackled the current situation in Lebanon and the country’s pending issues.
On another note, the daily noted that the French president voiced to Jumblatt his concerns over the Iranian policy in the Middle East region.
Al-Mustaqbal newspaper reported on Sunday that Hezbollah mobilized hundreds of fighters in Syria during the past few days.
“Hundreds of Hezbollah fighters were transported into Syria in small vehicles,” the newspaper added.
The development prompted observers to voice concerns from the eruption of battles along the border with Syria as the weather conditions improve.
