The following are summaries of today's major stories published in the Arabic press. LBCI does not edit press digest articles for content, giving English-language readers insight into the various views expressed in newspapers across the Arab world.

• Sleiman: any weapon used inside the Lebanese territory is illegal

The President of the Lebanese Republic Michel Sleiman mentioned that the positions he adopt during his visits are for the interest of Lebanon.              

In a talk to As-Safir newspaper, Sleiman said: "so far we have been able to ward off the risks of the Lebanese people who suffered years of bad experience and are now living under the minimal levels of tranquility and stability."                 

Sleiman pointed out that to achieve the desired goal from sovereignty and stability resumption of national dialogue was called for and mentioned that dialogue will discuss the "resistance weapons" adding: "any weapon used inside the Lebanese territory is considered as illegal and away from the defense strategy framework."                   

• Zahra: amending the 1960's electoral law is absurd                

Deputy Antoine Zahra mentioned that amending the 1960's electoral law is absurd and pointed out that a main problem is manifested day after day as Hezbollah and Chief of Change and Reform Bloc MP Michel Aoun refuse the emigrants' votes under the pretext of preventing any activity or propaganda of the party (Hezbollah) in the United States and other countries that consider it as a "terrorist party".                    

In a talk to An-Nahar Daily Zahra did not rule out that Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri will have something to say in this regard in light of the consultation he's conducting to adopt an electoral law.                 

• Cabinet convenes on Monday to discuss various administrative issues

An-Nahar newspaper mentioned on Saturday that the cabinet will dedicate its next session on Monday at the Grand Serail to discuss the activation of administrations' work.              
In this framework, the Cabinet's agenda on Monday will be based on 7 draft laws.                  

It is worth mentioning that another session for the Cabinet will be held on Wednesday at the Baabda Palace to raise the subject of appointing a new Board of Directors for Tele Liban.         
                

• Joint  Committees resume electoral law discussions

Parliamentary sources mentioned to An-Nahar that political contacts will take place so that the Joint Parliamentary Committees allocated to discuss electoral draft laws resume their sessions.                

It is worth noting that the Committees during their session on Thursday might form sub-parliamentary committee of 8 members.    
             

                

• Bishop Mazloum: the current regional situation is dangerous

Bishop Samir Mazloum considered that the overall situation in the region is very dangerous, especially in Syria, and international interference to divide Syria and create sectarian states in will lead to such divisions in all the regions.               

Mazloum mentioned to An-Nahar that Lebanon is the first to get affected from regional issues especially those taking place in Syria.
