French President Hollande welcomes Erdogan's condolences for Armenians, says "not enough"

French President Francois Hollande welcomed Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's condolences over the 1915 killings of Armenians, adding however that condolences are still "not enough."

Hollande, who attended a ceremony marking the 1915 events in Paris on Thursday, told Turkish reporters that Erdogan's condolence for slain Armenians "was a word that needed to be heard," adding that it is still not enough.

Hollande noted that there is progress being made, but he said the expectations of not only Armenians but also those who seek freedom is the recognition of the "Armenian Genocide."

"And we will stand by them," Hollande added.
