Tucker Carlson's interview with Vladimir Putin to be aired on Thursday evening

The former Fox News anchor, Tucker Carlson, announced in a post on Instagram that his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be aired on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at 6 pm (EST) on his media platform Tucker Carlson Network.

Carlson interviewed Putin on Tuesday in Russia; several Russian media outlets covered the event.

This interview is considered the first for the Russian President to a US interviewer since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022.

Carlson told in a video on X on Tuesday the reasons behind conducting this interview.

He said the US media had interviewed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and covered what was happening in Ukraine. This interview aims to show the Americans Russia's perspective on its war on Ukraine.

He said: "The interviews (Zelenskyy) he has already done in the US  are not traditional ones; they are fawning pep sessions, specifically designed to amplify Zelenskyy's demand that the US enter more deeply into a war in Eastern Europe and pay for it."

Furthermore, Carlson said: "We are not here because we love Vladimir Putin...We are not encouraging you to agree with what Putin may say in this interview, but we are urging you to watch it. You should know as much as you can."

Carlson also said in his video that he requested the Ukrainian President to interview him and is awaiting his response.
