Belarus sentences German man to death: Rights group

A court in Belarus has sentenced a German man to death over alleged crimes including "terrorism" and "mercenary activity", the Viasna human rights group said.

Rico Krieger, 30, was convicted under six articles of Belarus's criminal code in a secretive trial at the end of June, the group reported. The exact allegations against him were not immediately clear.
