France's Le Pen says snap legislative elections 'absolutely necessary'

France's far-right three-time presidential candidate Marine Le Pen Monday urged snap parliamentary elections after Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu resigned hours after his cabinet was announced.

"A dissolution (of parliament) is absolutely necessary," said Le Pen, the leader in parliament of the far-right National Rally party. She added it would be "wise" for President Emmanuel Macron to resign, a move the president has previously ruled out.
