US sanctions Maduro nephews, ships carrying Venezuela oil: AFP

The United States is imposing fresh sanctions on three nephews of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, alongside several companies shipping the South American country's oil, a Treasury Department official confirmed to AFP on Thursday.

The move, first reported by Axios, comes shortly after the United States seized an oil tanker off the Venezuelan coast, the latest step-up in friction between the two countries.
