Investigative Judge Zaher Hamadeh looking into the case of the disappearance of Imam Moussa Al-Sadr and his companions Sheikh Mohammad Yaacoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine, issued Monday an arrest warrant against Hannibal Gaddafi, son of former Libyan leader Mouammar Gaddafi, on charges of hiding information regarding the said case.
Judge Hamadeh had presented Hannibal's file to State Prosecutor Judge Samir Hammoud after interrogating the suspect concerning information he possessed about Imam Moussa al-Sadr’s disappearance.
This as sources told LBCI that Hannibal Gaddafi confessed that the Libyan regime was involved in kidnapping Imam Moussa al-Sadr, adding that he also named the person who impersonated the Imam and traveled to Rome. Gaddafi revealed that his sources are his brother Saif al-Islam and the intelligence official al-Mouatessem Billah.
In this context, the family of Imam al-Sadr filed a lawsuit before the Public Prosecution against Hannibal, but Judge Hammoud delayed the registration of the complaint.
