Tripolians demonstrated in support of Homs amid tight security presence, NNA field reporters said today. Demonstrators also told NNA reporters that they shouted anti-Assad slogans amid growing signs of solidarity with scores of Syrians massacred at the hands of the regime yesterday. On the other hand demonstrators emerged out of Tripoli mosques and heeded calls by local clergymen from the "Gathering of Muslim Scholars" to deplore Asad's violence meted against 'his' people. They immediately staged a sit-in in the central Hamid Karami Square and unfurled huge banners in condemnation of regime violence and, in solidarity with the victimized people of Syria.
