REPORT: Waste incineration crisis escalates
Health Minister Wael Abou Faour said Monday that “burning garbage has become inadmissible seemingly since it leads to serious diseases.”

Following his meeting with the emergency committee tasked with evaluating the ecological hazards of the waste management crisis, Abou Faour said that his ministry had referred 74 municipalities to the Public Prosecution on charges of burning the trash collected.

He also called upon the municipalities to stop the burning.

In the same context, the minister noted that necessary measures will be taken against the factories that burn garbage.
