REPORT: Hariri meets Lavrov in Moscow

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri stressed Wednesday that Lebanon is ready to cooperate with Russia on the military level as well as in other fields; Russian agency Interfax cited him as saying.

Speaking from Moscow, Hariri said that Syria must remain a unified country, pointing out that President Bashar Assad must not be part of a final solution for the Syrian crisis.

Hariri later held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the presence of Minister of Interior Nouhad Machnouq, former MP Ghattas Khoury, Mr. Nader Hariri and his adviser for the Russian affairs Georges Chaaban.

The meeting was also attended by Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa department at the ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrey Panov and the head of the Middle East Office Dimitri Dogatekin.
