An Interior Security Forces patrol arrested Sunday 7 people involved in storming Asharq al-Awsat newspaper offices and vandalizing the contents, in protest against a caricature deemed insulting to the Lebanese state, a statement issued by the ISF General Directorate said.
In the details, an Information branch patrol arrested one suspect identified as 45-year-old Lebanese citizen B. H., on charges of entering the offices of the said daily and inciting other men to join him in his plan.
However, six other suspects turned themselves in on intrusion and vandalism charges.
They were identified as 30-year-old J. D., 23-year-old H. Q., 20-year-old B. A., 26-year-old M. H., 24-year-old A. H and 23-year-old H. N., all Lebanese citizens.
They were all detained upon the order of the concerned judiciary.
