UN Special Envoy Terry Rod Larsen submits resignation

The Alhurra satellite TV channel reported on Friday that the United Nations Special Envoy Terry Rod Larsen submitted his resignation before the UN Security Council during a closed session.

Larsen was tasked to supervise resolution No. 1559 over Lebanon, Hezbollah and Syria.

UN political affairs chief Jeffrey Feltman will temporarily supersede him until the appointment of another envoy.
