Siniora says Future Movement ready to cooperate in expenditure issue

Former PM Fouad Siniora voiced on Saturday the Future Movement’s readiness to cooperate with the cabinet in the approval of the draft law related to the raising of the expenditure ceiling.

On the sidelines of his meeting with delegations in Sidon, Siniora called on the cabinet to commit to the finalization of the 2012 budget.

Siniora added that the financial issues besieging a number of hospitals, including the Sidon Public Hospital, are not related to the approval of the 8.9 trillion draft law, voicing surprise that “this issue is being used to [get on] the people’s nerves and to delude them into thinking that this is the right way to handle the issue, while it is not.”

In his concluding remarks, Siniora confirmed that the ministry of health has the sufficient and needed funds for settling the issue.
