Charbel: Elections are being held democratically, peacefully and impartially

Minister of Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel said Sunday that it is the first time in 10 years that municipal sub elections are held. He hoped that this experience can serve as an example for 2013 parliamentary elections

In a press conference, Charbel said that the electoral process is being held democratically, peacefully and impartially.

Charbel said that no agreement has been reached yet on the new electoral law. “This creates a problem and if the proportionality law would be divisive, I do now want it despite the fact that it is better than the law currently in force.”
