Adjutant Chadi al-Hajj, who was killed during Roueissat raid, the first martyr from the Internal Security Forces to die because he was not wearing a bulletproof vest to protect him from the gangs’ gunshots.
Before him in 2015, Sergeant Edmond Semaan was killed during a raid carried out against drug dealers in the town of al-Mahmoudieh in the Bekaa.
And also before him, army Lieutenant Nadim Semaan was killed during Bhenin events after a bullet penetrated through his helmet, which did not meet the safety standards.
According to former head of the judicial police, General Anwar Yahya, the problem is not related to equipment, adding that each mission has its own circumstances and requirements.
