REPORT: French presidential elections and the media

Whoever watched the French TV channel TF1 on Sunday would think that it is a normal day in France with no hint of a heated race during first round of the presidential elections.

Similarly, France 2 channel also kept its usual program schedule away from the political atmosphere.

Only the specialized news channels were covering the events of the electoral day, but also amid restrictions preventing these channels from broadcasting any polls on the elections results, under penalty of paying a fine that could reach 75,000 Euros.
