Speaker Nabih Berri stressed Wednesday that he remains optimistic over the possibility of reaching an agreement over a new electoral law, noting that the source of such optimism is the constant meetings and communications between all parties to achieve this goal.
Speaking during Wednesday’s deputies gathering, Berri said that failure to reach a solution before the end of the parliament’s mandate is a “big loss for the country.”
“We will remain open for more deliberations and we will also remain flexible toward any proposal within the framework of proportionality, regardless of what is being said,” he stated.
