Gemayel: We will challenge the tax hike decree

Kataeb party leader MP Sami Gemayel lamented on Wednesday the approval of 15 new taxes, adding that the high cost of living will affect all Lebanese costs.

Gemayel’s comments were made following a parliamentary session dedicated to discuss ways to finance the approved pay scale.

“Our studies confirm that the prices of goods will soar between 5 to 10% due to today’s approved taxes,” he added.

Gemayel also stressed that the approved taxes only aim to fund the parliamentary elections.

He concluded by saying that the party will challenge the tax hike decree.
