Army Commander Aoun congratulates army on victory against ISIS

Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun congratulated on Wednesday the Lebanese army on its victory against ISIS and offered his condolences to the families of fallen soldiers.

“Today, after you have put an end for the Fajer al-Jouroud offensive, in which you achieved a decisive victory over terrorism by expelling it from the outskirts of Ras Baalbek and Al-Qaa, this dear region is now back the fold of the nation,” Aoun said in a statement released Wednesday.

He also noted that the achievement has “turned the page on a painful period in our national life.”
