REPORT: Syrian national rapes, kills woman in Miziara

A Syrian national identified only by his initials as B. H. raped and killed 26-year old Lebanese national Rhea Chidiac inside her mansion in northern Lebanon.

The Syrian citizen who came to Lebanon 3 years ago worked as a concierge for the Chidiac family was arrested by the Lebanese police.

He confessed that he initially intended to steal money from the mansion, so he entered the house and found Rhea alone, he raped her and killed her by suffocating her.

Residents of the northern town of Miziara called on the Lebanese authorities to expel all displaced Syrians living in their town as a huge wave of anger swept the northern town following the crime.

More than 2 million refugees currently reside in Lebanon fleeing the atrocities of the Syrian crisis.

The influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon has imposed huge economic and social burdens on the country.
