Wahhab: For taking economic measures to strengthen ties between Levant countries
Tawhid Party leader and former MP Wiam Wahhab stressed on Tuesday the importance of economic unity and open borders between the countries of the Levant i.e. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Jordan.

Following his meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Grand Serail alongside a delegation participating in the Arab Popular Movement’s constitutive conference held in Beirut, Wahhab said that it is important to strengthen economic relations and exert popular pressure on the countries of the Levant in order for them to take economic measures that strengthen ties between citizens of their countries.

Wahhab pointed out that some members of the delegation tackled with Mikati the issue of the Lebanese-Syrian border and the necessity to control it and prevent the exportation of problems through the Lebanese territory to Syria. He explained that Mikati confirmed he had taken certain measures for the LAF and security forces, stressing the depth of relations between Syria and Lebanon.
